Coming Up on My Two-Year Business Anniversary

I realize that I post here very infrequently these past few years. However, I generally like to use this as a place to air my thoughts, no matter how incoherent they can be.

I am coming up on my two-year anniversary of when I started Southwest Tech Solutions. It’s funny, I almost forgot about it, but then I received my renewal notification via snail mail. The renewal is next month.

It’s been far from from a walk in the part. There have been days where I had no idea if I was doing the right thing or not. I still have some of those days from time to time. However, what I do know is that I like this way more than working for someone else.

One of the things that people never really talk about is how lonely it can me. Yes I work with clients but much of that time doing things in solitude and simply providing updates or asking questions when needed. Along the way I’ve make some great friends with my clients as well as through networking with other businesses. With that said, I’m still on my own to deal with any issues that arise and I do all the boring paperwork on my own.

Luckily, there are some of these friends and businesses that I can lean on for advice (and help) from time to time. It’s not all doom and gloom. One of good friends is my direct competition and we often work together on projects and help each other out. We are both solo entrepreneurs.

I don’t have anything life changing or earth shattering to bark about today. Just some thoughts (from my Little White Keyboard, not the Little White Van today).

Cheers!
DD
